CycleBar Midtown CLT is at 339 S. Kings Drive and will hold its grand opening Sept. 5. A soft opening or “CycleBlast” will run from Aug. 25 to Sept. 4 and offer potential customers complimentary cycle classes.

There are currently 33 CycleBar franchises nationwide and more than 50 others planned to open in 2016, according to the CycleBar web site.

According to the CycleBar site, CycleBar riders are led through a 50-minute ride in a “concert-like atmosphere” that includes lights, video graphics and music. There are different levels and types of classes, including themed rides. The studio provides riding shoes, water and snacks as well as lockers, robes and showers.

Charlotteans Lisa and Marc Palmer will operate the Kings Drive CycleBar location as well as 2 other locations the couple is planning, according to a Charlotte Business Journal report. A CycleBar is also planned for the new Waverly mixed-use development in South Charlotte.

Kings Square, located at the corner of South Kings Drive and Luther Street, underwent a major renovation after being purchased by MPV Properties earlier in the year. The plaza has nearly 9,000 square feet of retail space.
